Insurance Health Care and Skin Pimples
Have your heard about the young lad from Iowa who was denied health care because acne was considered to be a pre-existing condition?
The question of insurance payouts has been a hot potoato for a very long time – but it is the underlying assumption that caught my attenton here.
Clearly this insurance company does not view acne as temporary – or view individual episodes of skin pimples as unrelated to each other.
In other words it is their view that if you respond quickly to treatment and get rid of pimples fast – that is not the same as thing as to cure pimples.
So is the insurance company’s position a fair one?
Well it certainly matches people’s experience. For many people skin pimples do return.
To cure pimples does require something more than thinking about how to get rid of pimples fast – even though that is an understandable priority.
The insurance company would seemingly share my view. A two step approach is required – rapid improvement coupled with a sustained cure. Freedom from skin pimples over an extended period would persuade most people that the problems is cured.
